Life and living in Orihuela Costa:

Orihuela Costa lies in the province of Alicante and has recently become a popular destination for tourists and Swedes abroad. There are miles of beautiful, varied beaches and tall, striking cliffs, making this one of the more popular stretches of the Costa Blanca. A very popular nearby beach is Playa Flamenca, and north of it lies the well-known Punta Prima, the northernmost point of Orihuela Costa. Many regard Punta Prima as «the heart of beauty». As well as beautiful beaches there are many restaurants, cafés and bars. One advantage of Orihuela Costa is its good connections. It takes about an hour by car to Alicante airport, and if you prefer public transport there are good bus and train links between the larger towns.

There are many properties for sale in Orihuela Costa, and it is becoming increasingly popular for Swedes to buy houses and apartments in Spain. Orihuela Costa has only recently become known to tourists, so it is not yet quite as popular as other well-known areas of Spain, which is a plus. Here you can enjoy a beautiful stretch of coast without too many crowds. One reason it has recently become more popular, especially with Swedes, is that the Scandinavian school is nearby, making things easier for those moving with children. The area also has world-class golf courses, so if you are interested in golf it is definitely for you. There are several popular courses along the coast: Real Club de Golf Campoamor, Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Las Colinas.

The area has many exclusive golf clubs such as Villamartin, and the most popular course is Campoamor, a very beautiful course with many sweeping holes. There are also many areas to live along the beautiful coastline – you can choose between older, charming homes or new builds, and between a central location or quieter, more secluded surroundings.
